Tenuta di Monterufoli: beyond the traditional agriturismo

The property was described as a 1,030-hectare estate of wooded hills, thermal springs and mineral sites between the Val di Cecina and Val di Cornia. Its hospitality occupied three restored buildings: La Miniera, Le Scuderie and La Casa delle Guardie.

La Miniera contained nine rooms, a suite and an independent apartment, while Le Scuderie and La Casa delle Guardie held six autonomous Tuscan-style apartments. A restaurant, pool, sports field, wine shop and tasting room completed the facilities.

The estate’s wine production comprised Poggio Miniera Val di Cornia Rosso DOCG and Vermentino di Toscana. All production was scheduled to become organic beginning with 2021. The kitchen also relied on vegetables from the organic estate garden, while activities included tastings and off-road visits to the chalcedony mines.
