La Roncaia Eclisse reconquers Tre Bicchieri

Eclisse 2018 received Tre Bicchieri in the 2021 edition of Gambero Rosso’s Vini d’Italia. The award was the second Tre Bicchieri for the Sauvignon-and-Picolit blend, following the recognition earned by Eclisse 2012.

Marco Fantinel connected the wine’s balance to the combination of aromatic, high-acid Sauvignon from the estate’s area and dry Picolit. The article also revisited the blend’s origins: Hungarian oenologist Tibor Gal conceived it, and the solar eclipse that marked its first harvest inspired its name. Gabriele Tami described Gal’s original idea as a great wine capable of remaining accessible and enjoyable.
