3 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020

The article traces the three-wine project to the 2017 vintage. Castello Fonterutoli represents selected Alberese-rich parcels around the Fonterutoli hamlet at 470 metres; Vicoregio 36 represents a 350-metre Castelnuovo Berardenga plateau planted with 36 Sangiovese biotypes; Badiòla represents the cooler Galestro-and-sandstone vineyards of Radda in Chianti at 570 metres. The 2020 growing season combined average temperatures with well-spaced rainfall, producing healthy grapes and wines balancing structure with freshness. The release coincided with the activation of the Chianti Classico UGA system.
