Gran Selezione 2021
A cold, relatively dry winter preceded a cool spring with adequate rain. The subsequent summer was long and hot, but useful day–night temperature variation supported complete ripening. Healthy grapes with thick, balanced and fresh skins entered the cellar, although insufficient winter rain reduced quantity by limiting budbreak in earlier sites. The article presents Vicoregio 36 from Castelnuovo Berardenga, Castello Fonterutoli from Castellina in Chianti and high-altitude Badiòla from Radda in Chianti as the estate's three UGA-linked Gran Selezione wines.
