Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay and Grillo grow near the town of Madoni, in sandy and clay soils. The vineyards form an amphitheatre on the northern side of a slope at approximately 400 m above sea level, with a planting density of 4,000 vines per hectare. The area has a Mediterranean climate.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, early in the morning in August. A relatively short, low-temperature maceration precedes fermentation at 16–18 °C with natural yeasts.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks for three to five months, followed by several months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Refreshing and well balanced, with bright acidity, notes of yellow fruit and a distinctive character.
