Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come exclusively from the estate's own vineyards, which allows close control over style and quality.
Vinification
The grapes are gently destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks at no more than 25 °C. The fermentation and maceration are short and carefully managed, extracting colour and silky tannins while preserving the purity of the aromas. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in French and Hungarian oak barriques, which add structure, roundness and refined spicy notes. The 2023 vintage was bottled in July 2025.
Tasting profile
Restrained Tuscan character, with juicy freshness, a savoury edge and soft, well-defined tannins. The style is elegant and modern, and true to the tradition of the Antinori family. Oak adds spicy notes.
Serving and pairing
Suited to flavourful dishes that are not too heavy: rabbit, meat served with sauces, and tomato-based pasta.
Vintage notes
2023: the growing season began with a mild winter and a cool spring, which slowed vine development. A hot, dry summer followed, but sufficient water reserves helped the grapes ripen evenly. The wine has balance, freshness and good potential.
Label / history
"Villa Antinori" was first released in 1928 as the estate's flagship wine. It came to reflect the family's philosophy of respect for terroir, continuity, and a subtle balance between tradition and changing times.
