Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in northern Italy. The Pinot Nero comes from the same vineyards as the Pinot Grigio.
Grapes
A small proportion of Pinot Nero is added to the must. The Pinot Grigio is harvested at a level of ripeness at which its skins have developed deeper pigmentation, while the Pinot Nero intensifies the wine’s shade.
Vinification
The ripest grapes are harvested in early September. After crushing, they remain in contact with the skins for 12 hours at low temperature. The must is then gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle.
Label / history
Adria Vini was founded in 2003 as a joint venture between Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, with the aim of making Italian wines from local grape varieties. Claudio Manera of Araldica Castelvero and Lella Burdese of Boutinot’s Italian division oversee grape selection, vinification, maturation, blending and bottling.
