Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows in the red sandy soils of Vittoria, in Sicily.
Grapes
Each variety contributes something different: Frappato adds floral and fruity notes, while Nero d'Avola gives dark fruit and herbs.
Vinification
The grapes are crushed together and left on their skins for 30 days of maceration with spontaneous fermentation. The cap is worked with daily pump-overs and punch-downs. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages for 6 months in the same concrete tanks used for fermentation. It is bottled without filtration and rests a further 1 month before release.
Tasting profile
Bright acidity, with a bold yet fresh and delicate fruit character. Floral and fruity notes from Frappato sit alongside dark fruit and herbs from Nero d'Avola. It is ready to drink while still young.
Label / history
The name comes from Strada Provinciale 68, the road beside the Occhipinti family estate. Arianna walked along it several times a day to reach the vineyards, and it is still used to carry the harvested grapes to the winery.
