Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie on the gentle slopes of Campobello di Licata, 230–260 m above sea level and 8 km from the coast. Daytime temperatures reach 35–40 °C, falling to 20–22 °C at night.
Vinification
The bunches are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and placed in small crates. After selection, the grapes are destemmed and macerated on the skins under controlled temperature for 10–15 days.
Ageing
The wine rests for six months in steel tanks, followed by six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The nose has a vibrant fruity character. The palate is rounded, soft and enveloping.
Label / history
The C'D'C' labels feature part of a veil cloth. Veils were so common among Sicilian women, particularly in the seventeenth century, that they were exempt from customs duties.
