Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Le Forconate’s estate vineyards, which lie among olive groves in the Tuscan hills. The estate has 28 ha of vineyards, with soils composed mainly of Pliocene-era clay.
Vinification
The grapes are generally harvested by hand in the second half of September at optimal ripeness, then selected at the winery. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 22–28 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in new oak barrels made from nine different types of wood.
Tasting profile
Elegant and spicy.
