Vinification
The grapes are harvested mechanically at the beginning of autumn. Traditional vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine is stabilised and aged in steel tanks.
Label / history
Abele Bolla founded the winery in Veneto in 1883. Its wines received a gold medal at a competition in Bologna in 1909. The winery produced its first Amarone vintage in 1950. Brown-Forman acquired a 40% stake in the late 1960s and began distributing its wines in the United States. In 1989, the Gambero Rosso guide called Bolla a “National Oenological Institute” representing Italian wines around the world.
