Vineyard and terroir

The Pinot Grigio is grown in Veneto on well-drained alluvial soils.

Vinification

The wine is made by a traditional method. Alcoholic fermentation lasts 12–14 days in stainless-steel tanks at a low temperature to preserve freshness and the grape’s varietal character.

Tasting profile

Fresh, with a distinctive aroma and flavour profile.

Label / history

The Placido brand takes its name from Siena’s Placidi family and honours Count Placidi. Placido dei Placidi, a 13th-century Tuscan nobleman, was a hero of the Battle of Montaperti between Florence and Siena. He received a large estate as a reward for his bravery, and winemaking subsequently became an important part of the local culture there.

Vigne Regali is Banfi Group’s name for the historic Bruzzone winery in Piedmont, which was founded in 1860 and specializes in sparkling wines. The Mariani family acquired the winery and its Piedmont vineyards in 1979.
