Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese is grown in the winery’s vineyards on clay soils in the Chianti region.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and gently pressed at the winery. The must ferments with selected yeasts in stainless-steel tanks at 28–30 °C for 15 days, followed by 10 days of post-fermentation maceration to optimize extraction.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels, then rests for a further four months in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Tasting profile
Rounded in character.
Vintage notes
In Tuscany, 2019 was a successful and productive year. Spring was rainy and cooler than usual. Flowering began slightly later than normal in June, with the arrival of warmer weather. Summer temperatures remained within the normal range, with a good difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The resulting wines showed deep colour, excellent aromas, concentration and a refined texture.
