Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in Puglia alongside centuries-old olive groves and wheat fields, on sandy and clay soils. The southern sun brings sweetness to the grapes, while a sea breeze from the coast gives them lively, bright acidity, creating a natural balance.
Vinification
The grapes are gently destemmed and crushed, then macerated for 8–10 days, during which the wine develops its deep colour and aromatic depth. Malolactic fermentation softens the taste, after which the wine is left to rest.
Ageing
The wine is aged for 4–5 months in previously used American and French oak barriques. The oak stays in the background, framing the flavour and adding complexity and a polished finish.
Tasting profile
Smooth and generous, with rich flavour and a complex aroma. The acidity is lively and bright, balanced by the sweetness of the fruit. The oak is discreet and the finish polished.
Label / history
"Luccarelli" is a project established in 2008 by Terre di Sava and Farnese Vini. Farnese has controlled it since 2013. The range was created to explore the potential of the Puglia region and introduce consumers to its wines.
