Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate’s organically farmed vineyards in Bardolino and Cavaion, within the Bardolino Classico area. The vines are between 9 and 50 years old and grow in gravelly soils of glacial moraine origin.
Grapes
The grapes are selected before vinification.
Vinification
Depending on the plot, harvesting is carried out either by hand or by machine. The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then undergo cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 10–15 days at a controlled temperature of 25–28 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 25 hl French oak barrels.
Vintage notes
The 2020 growing season in Veneto began slightly earlier than usual, without problems during flowering or fruit set. Moderate temperatures and optimal rainfall prevailed from March through July. Temperatures increased in July and early August, while heavy rainfall caused occasional difficulties. The grapes were healthy, with normal sugar levels in line with previous years.
Label / history
“Munus” means “gift” in Latin. The first vintage was released in 1982 as a tribute to the Venetian heritage of Countess Maria Christian Loredan Rizzardi. The wine is produced in limited quantities.
