Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at Marco de Bartoli’s estate on Pantelleria, on the north-facing hillsides of the Kúfura area, where the first vines were planted in 1957. Planting density is 2,500 vines per hectare, and yields reach up to 25 hL/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September. After destemming and gentle pressing, they undergo one day of cold maceration. The must settles for 48 hours at low temperature before alcoholic fermentation with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled 500-litre steel vats.
Ageing
The wine rests for six months: two-thirds in stainless-steel tanks and one-third in French oak barriques.
Tasting profile
Complex.
