Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the Belice Valley on deep alluvial soils with good levels of organic matter and iron. The wider Barone Montalto vineyard holdings cover 400 ha, most of which are managed according to the Montalto Quality Protocol. Favourable weather, gentle breezes and careful vine management shape the estate’s viticultural approach.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo a short cold maceration on the skins. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 12–14 °C for 20 days.
