Night harvest brought forward to preserve quality during extreme heat

The 2026 Ruchè harvest at Castagnole Monferrato began at night and earlier than in preceding years. Franco Morando linked the decision to extreme seasonal heat and to the need to preserve fruit quality. Night picking was used to receive cooler grapes and protect their aromatic condition while continuing the estate’s established practice of harvesting by hand.
