Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a 0.505 ha vineyard on the middle section of a hill, facing south and southwest. The vines are at least 22 years old on average and grow in marl interspersed with layers of clay. The vineyard is farmed using organic methods. Friuli-Venezia Giulia has a mild, humid climate influenced by its proximity to both the mountains and the sea.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, gently pressed in a pneumatic press and cold-settled. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages in stainless-steel tanks.
Label / history
In the local dialect, “Ronco” means “vineyard on a hill”; “Gnemiz” is the name of the family that lived and made wine on the property for centuries. The Palazzolo family purchased the land in the early 1960s and retained its historic name. Enzo Palazzolo built a new winery in 1964, and his daughter Serena assumed its management in 1981, overseeing production with oenologists Roberto Cipresso and Andrea Pittana.
