Cantina Rotaliana joins KönCeRT for sustainability

Cantina Rotaliana installed a 240 kW photovoltaic system and entered a 20-year agreement with the KönCeRT renewable-energy community. The installation supplies around 70% of annual electricity demand. From December to August the winery can operate independently and return surplus power to the grid; from August to November, grape reception, crushing, fermentation and other harvest work require additional grid energy. Shared surplus can support local social initiatives. The project complements water metering, purification and reuse systems and the selection of lower-impact vineyard products begun in the 1990s.
