Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown on hills in Venezia Giulia. Organic vineyard methods are used to preserve the variety’s character.
Vinification
The grapes macerate in contact with their pink-gold skins for 12 hours, which gives the wine a copper hue. Vinification then follows a classic white-wine method, with fermentation exclusively in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages exclusively in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Copper in colour.
Label / history
The wine was created by Giovanni, the younger member of the Puiatti winery’s owning family. In official contracts, Pinot Grigio is described as “ramato,” meaning “copper”; the name refers to the skin-contact practice that produces this colour. Puiatti is now part of Tenimenti Angelini.
