Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards around Romans d'Isonzo, in Friuli. The alluvial soils are rich in gravel and clay and give the wine its freshness and minerality. Organic methods are used in the vineyard, to preserve the authentic character of the variety as fully as possible.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand at full ripeness, when they reach the golden-yellow colour typical of Ribolla Gialla. Harvest is usually in the second week of September. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Puiatti ferments its wines only in steel, cement or ceramic vessels.
Ageing
The wine is aged for four months in stainless-steel tanks, which preserve the natural aromas of the grape. Puiatti never ages its wines in oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Elegant and easy-drinking, with a distinctive freshness and minerality.
Label / history
Puiatti's motto is "Save a tree—drink Puiatti". Father and son Vittorio and Giovanni Puiatti approached winemaking with the environment in mind, as well as for business and passion. The Puiatti winery is now part of Tenimenti Angelini.
