Vineyard and terroir
Masseria Altemura lies in the heart of Salento, equidistant from the Ionian and Adriatic seas. The estate covers approximately 300 hectares, including 150 hectares of vineyards. Sea breezes refresh the local climate, and the vineyards provide a suitable microclimate for Fiano.
Tasting profile
Refreshing and fruity, with lively acidity. The aroma combines almond, orange blossom, peach and herbs. The palate is elegant, mineral and slightly saline, with crisp freshness.
Label / history
Fiano was grown in Salento during the reign of Charles I of Anjou in the XIII century and during the reign of Frederick II in the XVI century, but was later largely forgotten. The Zonin family, which has owned Masseria Altemura since 2000, helped revive the variety and restore its clones.
