Stanislas Milcent takes charge of Langlois and Domaine Hubert Brochard

Stanislas Milcent became managing director of Groupe familial Bollinger’s two Loire estates on 20 October, succeeding group chief executive Gonzague Villedey, who had overseen the transition after the accidental death of François-Régis de Fougeroux in April.

New leadership for the Loire estates

Stanislas Milcent has taken over the general management of Groupe familial Bollinger’s Loire division, comprising Langlois in Saumur and Domaine Hubert Brochard in Sancerre. He assumed the role on 20 October after the position had remained vacant for six months following the accidental death of François-Régis de Fougeroux in April. Gonzague Villedey, the group’s managing director, had led the two businesses during the transition while a successor was sought for de Fougeroux, who had joined the group 25 years earlier.1

Langlois and Domaine Hubert Brochard

Milcent will oversee Langlois, a Crémant de Loire specialist owned by the group since 1973, and Domaine Hubert Brochard, acquired in 2022 with 89 hectares of vineyards across Sancerre’s three principal terroirs. His mandate is to continue developing both estates, building on rising demand for crémant and Langlois’s quality-focused interpretation of the appellation while expressing the individual terroirs of Domaine Hubert Brochard with greater precision.1

At Domaine Hubert Brochard, Milcent will work with site director Rodrigo Zamorano, a Chilean oenologist committed to Sancerre. His international remit will also draw on experience gained at several Moët Hennessy houses, including Domaine Chandon and Newton Vineyard in California, where he initially held financial roles.1

Wine and management experience

Milcent began his career in 2003. He graduated from AgroParisTech and holds France’s national oenology diploma, combining formal expertise in viticulture and wine with management experience that the group expects him to apply to the development of Langlois and Domaine Hubert Brochard, particularly in international markets.1

Continuity after François-Régis de Fougeroux

Taking up the post while both houses are mourning de Fougeroux, Milcent acknowledged the significance of his predecessor’s legacy and the responsibility he now carries. He said he first intends to listen and understand, then work humbly alongside the teams to advance Langlois and Domaine Hubert Brochard while protecting the identity and distinctive character of each. Those established teams include commercial director Laurent Onillon, who joined Langlois in the same year as de Fougeroux.1

In a 2025 interview, de Fougeroux had expressed confidence that Langlois would continue operating effectively without him. He said he had learned to step back from close day-to-day involvement, curb his inclination to control operations, let the teams manage daily business and concentrate instead on maintaining the overall direction. Milcent now assumes responsibility for that continuity and for the further development of both Loire estates.1
