Ian D’Agata on Adanti

The assessment credits Domenico Adanti with an early commercial commitment to Sagrantino and places the estate among the denomination’s historic producers. It describes a 40 ha property with approximately 30 ha under vine and 10 ha of olive groves. Arquata is associated with relatively low-pH soils and a fresher, more graceful profile. Three Sagrantino origins are detailed: northwest-facing clay-calcareous ground at approximately 360 m in Arquata; a west-facing clay-sandy-calcareous Colcimino site at approximately 250 m; and southeast-facing clay-sandy-calcareous ground at approximately 250 m in Campoletame.
