The account places Adanti on the rural road between Montefalco and Bevagna, amid farmhouses, woods, sunflower fields, olive groves and vineyards. Domenico Adanti acquired the Arquata house and land around 1970 and became one of the early growers to recognize Sagrantino’s potential. His friendship with the Paris-based tailor Alvaro Palini transformed production. After Domenico’s death, Pietro, Daniela and Donatella Adanti assumed management, while Alvaro transferred cellar responsibility to his son Daniele. The family’s guiding idea remained the preservation of Sagrantino’s typicity rather than excessive softening.
