Santagostino: Thirty Years of Excellence

Firriato celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of Santagostino Bianco and Santagostino Rosso, two of the earliest wines associated with Baglio Sorìa. The white combines Catarratto and Chardonnay, while the red brings together Nero d’Avola and Syrah, expressing the founding idea of pairing a Sicilian grape with an international variety.

The anniversary also recalled the estate landscape that shaped the wines: clay and red-marl soils, persistent wind and Mediterranean sea breezes. Irene Di Gaetano described Santagostino as an enduring expression of identity and passion, faithful to its origins while reaching enthusiasts in markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Over three decades, the two labels received international recognition, including appearances in Wine Spectator’s Top 100, 94 points from Robert Parker, 92 points from James Suckling, three Tre Bicchieri awards from Gambero Rosso and a 92-point Wine Enthusiast Best Buy assessment.
