Remembering Alberto Lazzarino

Alberto Lazzarino died in 2019 after a short illness. Born in Turin in 1963, he trained at the Scuola Enologica di Alba and gained experience at Fratelli Martini and Cantina Sociale di Maranzana before joining Banfi in 2002.

During his years as Head Winemaker at Strevi, he became closely associated with several of Banfi’s major projects. He was active in regional wine consortia and served as president of the Piedmont section of Assoenologi. Banfi remembered his rigor, technical curiosity, optimism and influence on colleagues continuing his work in Strevi and Montalcino.
