Wine is a Contemporary Story: the Manifesto di Noto

On 16 June 2025, Buonivini hosted producers, academics, cultural figures and beverage professionals for discussions about contemporary wineries, changing consumption, biodynamics, diversification, no- and low-alcohol wine, ready-to-drink beverages, biodiversity and the social role of agricultural enterprises. Participants included Roberta Ceretto, Arturo Pallanti, Tiziana Frescobaldi, Alessio Planeta, Nicola Perullo, Arianna Occhipinti, Cecilia Carbone, Niklas Foradori Hofstätter, Diva Moretti Polegato and Cristina Busi Ferruzzi.

The discussions produced the Manifesto di Noto del Vino Contemporaneo. Its eight principles define wine as an agricultural act that can harmonize people and nature; a plural expression of past, present and future; an open, inclusive and responsible product capable of embracing new consumption patterns and technologies; a system that generates work, economy, beauty, culture, relationships and biodiversity; a community founded on trust; a cultural good and shared heritage that shapes landscapes and identities; a source of conviviality and happiness; and a subject requiring clear, adaptable language grounded in agricultural and cultural context.
