Ian d’Agata on Campinuovi

Ian d’Agata reviewed the 2009 Campinuovi Sangiovese Montecucco, 2009 Campinuovi Montecucco Rosso and 2007 Campinuovi Sangiovese Riserva. He scored the 2009 Sangiovese 91 points and emphasized its red-fruit, spice, earth and tobacco character, concentration and long finish. The 2009 Rosso was described as a firmer blend marked by dark plum, tobacco, herbs and smooth but austere tannins. The 2007 Riserva received 90+ points and was characterized as dense, structured and in need of further bottle age.
