Il vino biologico Cantalici: rispondiamo ad alcune domande di chi degusta

Organic production is presented as a system designed to improve natural soil fertility through restrained intervention and to promote biodiversity and ecological balance. The system operates within European and Italian rules and excludes synthetic fungicides, fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and GMOs.

At Cantalici, vineyard management is centred on prevention and close care during the vine’s growth. When needed, pheromone dispensers are placed among the vines in spring to disrupt pest mating. Certified natural-origin fertilisers are used for soil management, while only a restricted range and quantity of certified organic-origin additives and processing aids are employed during winemaking.

Harvesting is manual, and traceability follows every production stage from vineyard to bottle. Organic wine can contain sulphites, but within lower permitted limits than conventional wine. The decision to certify is treated as a commitment involving environmental responsibility, ethics and health rather than a temporary fashion.
