About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the estate’s organically farmed “San Carlo” vineyard in the municipality of Volpago del Montello, north of Treviso. The low-yielding vines grow on the red, iron-rich soils of Montello hill.

Grapes

A Bordeaux-style blend of selected Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Merlot (20%).

Vinification

The grapes are usually harvested by hand from mid- to late October. Each variety is vinified separately and undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine ages for 18–20 months in French oak barrels, half of them new. After blending, it matures in oak barrels for a further six months, followed by nine months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Elegant, with a rich aroma and inviting spice and fruit notes. The palate is balanced and complex.
