I Sodi di S. Niccolò, an icon of style since 1977
The article marked the history of I Sodi di S. Niccolò from its first bottling in 1977. It explained that sodi was the farmers’ term for hard ground that had to be worked manually, while San Niccolò referred to the 14th-century church surrounded by the estate vineyards.
The 1985 vintage became the first Italian wine in Wine Spectator’s inaugural Top 100 in 1988, and the 1986 vintage repeated the achievement in 1989.
