With Chianti Classico 2024, a new bird becomes part of the Castellare di Castellina family

The 2024 Chianti Classico label introduced the Common Redstart, a small migratory bird considered at risk of extinction. Its presence among Castellare’s vineyards was connected to environmentally conscious viticulture. A QR code linking to the bird’s song was added for the first time.

The 2024 growing season returned production to average quantities after the difficult 2023 vintage. Regular winter rain and a cool spring maintained soil-water reserves. A warm but not extreme summer allowed Sangiovese to ripen gradually while retaining freshness and aromatic expression.
