About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the same vineyards used for the estate’s flagship Chianti. The vines were planted between 1964 and 1978, at 500 m above sea level, on rich soils.
Grapes
The blend comprises 96% Sangiovese and 4% Merlot.
Vinification
Thirty per cent of the must ferments on the skins to increase the extraction of colour and aroma.
Ageing
The wine rests briefly in neutral vessels.
Tasting profile
Refined in character.
Label / history
The wine was called Rosato until 2017.
