Podere Il Cocco: The Agriturismo Near Montalcino Where Time Slows Down
Podere il Cocco frames hospitality around peace, simplicity and direct contact with a working organic farm. Rooms provide essential comfort without televisions, video games or entertainment spaces. The absence of digital distractions is deliberate: guests are encouraged to listen to wind and birds, observe the farm and spend time together.
The estate’s agricultural history extends back more than 600 years on the hill between the Valle dell’Ombrone and Val d’Orcia. Since 2000, vines, olives and gardens have been managed under certified-organic farming, reflecting the conviction that living in balance with nature is a long-term responsibility.
Its hilltop position opens in one direction toward the Val d’Orcia, medieval villages and Apennines and in the other toward the Tuscan sea and, on clear days, the Island of Giglio. Marine and mountain air meet around the estate, contributing to its ventilated microclimate.
A stay of approximately one week is encouraged as sufficient time to leave behind an urban pace, absorb the quiet and explore Montalcino, Val d’Orcia villages, Bagno Vignoni and surrounding trails without rushing.
