Wonderful: Ò di Còlpetrone Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2016 is born

The project emerged from long-term study of Sagrantino and the identification of plots with particularly favourable exposure, soil and pedoclimatic conditions. A parcel at San Marco—one of Montefalco’s historic hills and a place associated with the variety’s cradle—was vinified separately. The distinct character of that lot led to the creation of Ò di Còlpetrone from the 2016 vintage.

The production protocol was not conceived as radically different from the estate’s other Sagrantinos: the intended distinction came from the intrinsic character of the parcel. The name Ò records the winemaking team’s exclamation at the first tasting, while the gold-toned label links surprise, place and the estate’s identity.
