Sul Vulcano, Etna according to Donnafugata
Two years after beginning work on Etna, Donnafugata presented the first commercial result of the project. Sul Vulcano Etna Bianco DOC was made from Carricante grown in approximately 15 hectares of vineyards then distributed among five northern-slope districts between Randazzo and Passopisciaro.
The wine came from the 2016 harvest and was vinified at the Randazzo winery. Only 7,000 bottles were produced. Its launch established the estate’s Etna DOC range and was followed by further interpretations based on Carricante and the native red varieties.
