Contesa dei Venti, a surprising Nero d’Avola
Contesa dei Venti was introduced as a small-production Vittoria DOC Nero d’Avola shaped by sandy ground, limestone tuff and the sea breezes that moderate the Mediterranean climate. Antonio Rallo and the production team developed the wine through repeated harvest tastings, aiming for freshness, harmony and fine, supple tannins.
Its name refers to the persistent breeze created by the dialogue between the sea and the Hyblaean Mountains. José Rallo connected the red-plum and lavender colours of Stefano Vitale’s illustration with the wine’s aromatic identity. The release joined Floramundi Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG and Bell’Assai Vittoria DOC Frappato, completing the estate’s contemporary trio of native-variety reds.
