The 2023 harvest at Donnafugata

At Acate, December and January were slightly warmer than average before colder conditions and abundant rain arrived in February. Total precipitation reached 421 mm, compared with a cited average of 416 mm. The position between the sea and the Hyblaean Mountains supplied cool thermal breezes and pronounced day–night variation even during the warmest summer periods.

Nero d’Avola and Frappato reached ideal maturity and excellent quality. Harvest began in the youngest vineyards during the first ten days of September and ended in the final week of the month. Total production was near the average of recent vintages, with a small increase in certain plots.
