A World-Famous Travel Blogger Visits the Sister Winery in Bulgaria

During a six-day Bulgarian itinerary in mid-May, Lesley Carter and her group spent the fifth and sixth days at Elenovo. Dinner was served in the boutique restaurant at the Soli Invicto hotel and included Soli Invicto brandy, Edoardo Miroglio Chardonnay 2015 and green-walnut liqueur.

The following morning, director Alberto La Rosa introduced the estate's history, architecture, vineyards, target markets and wine-tourism services. He then conducted a cellar tour covering still wines, brandies and sparkling-wine production, followed by a tasting from cask. The tasting room displayed medals, diplomas, ancient-style rhytons and hand-painted bottles. The formal tasting included Edoardo Miroglio Brut, three wines from the organic range and Pinot Noir.
