The new lightweight bottle for the Selezione wines

A 2022 carbon assessment by Ökoinstitut Alto Adige found that bottle production and transport were major contributors to the estate’s emissions. Scope 3 sources represented 53% of the overall footprint. Elena Walch consequently reduced its Burgundian-format Selezione bottle from 500 g to 395 g. The 21% weight reduction is expected to cut annual emissions by 64 tonnes of CO2 and forms part of the estate’s continuing program to reduce its carbon footprint.
