Ciao Papi

Following Giovanni Faraone’s death, his family thanked friends and colleagues for their support and recalled a farewell toast held with his wines. They committed to continuing his work and reproduced his personal statement on viticulture and winemaking. Giovanni described non-irrigated vineyards without tillage or fertilisation, copper and sulphur protection against downy and powdery mildew, research into native Passerina and Montepulciano yeasts and careful control of fermentation and temperature. He invited visitors to inspect the vineyards and cellar throughout the year as the basis for judging his methods.
