New Vineyard at Convento

The Convento vineyard was added to the estate’s Collepietro holdings in 2017. Its more-than-30-year-old Montepulciano vines occupy level clay soil over a deep gravel substrate beside a former gravel quarry. Despite pergola abruzzese having historically been associated with high yields and shorter vineyard life, the vines remained vigorous, with deep roots contributing to resilience. Early pruning before Christmas protected the structure during an exceptional snowfall that damaged nearby vineyards.
