About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from the La Casa vineyard, cultivated by Flavio Barile. The site lies at 60 metres above sea level on iron-rich sandy soils. Its organically farmed vines average 60 years of age, are planted at 2,300 vines per hectare and trained to spur-pruned cordon.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the first ten days of September. Fermentation proceeds with indigenous yeasts and 2–6 days of skin maceration.
Ageing
Maturation takes place in cement and an oak cask.
