A new vineyard in the heart of Alta Langa
A new Chardonnay vineyard was established at Mango on family land cultivated for generations and recently cared for by “Grandma Rosa.” The approximately one-hectare site lies above 500 metres, where cooler conditions, strong day–night temperature differences and regular ventilation favour acidity, aroma retention and balanced growth.
Two Chardonnay clones were selected to respond to the vineyard’s different exposures and microzones. A laser-guided tractor provided precise mechanized planting, after which each vine was checked and positioned manually.
The vineyard is intended to supply a future blanc de blancs Valsellera Alta Langa DOCG. After harvest and fermentation, the base wine is planned to mature in oak before tirage and at least 30 months of bottle ageing. The first tasting is expected only after a seven-year wait.
