Valsellera Alta Langa Pas Dosé: our challenge

Giovanni Battista’s enthusiasm for sparkling wine led to several family journeys to Champagne during the 1960s. In 1967, he released Valsellera, naming it after Val Scellera, the valley where he had built the winery in 1964.

Valsellera Pas Dosé was created in 2017 to honour Giovanni Battista and celebrate fifty years of family Metodo Classico production. It uses selected Chardonnay and the best portion of must separated during pressing, with complexity, elegance and zero dosage as its defining aims.

In 2020, the project entered Alta Langa DOCG and moved to Chardonnay vineyards between Loazzolo and Bubbio. Francone retained a blanc de blancs approach and its established production technique while adapting the vineyard source to the denomination’s steep, high-hill landscape.
