About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the hillside vineyards of Santa Maria and Il Monte, at 150–200 metres above sea level. The soils are composed of sand and clay.
Grapes
Sangiovese is complemented by a small proportion of Merlot.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with native yeasts in stainless-steel and concrete tanks for 12–14 days.
Tasting profile
Expressive aromas of candied cherry, tobacco and liquorice lead to a dry, well-balanced palate.
Label / history
Annual production is 30,000–40,000 bottles.
