About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the La Casina Girasole vineyard near San Martino al Vento, in the Chianti Classico area. The vineyard faces southwest and has mainly marl soils. Its first vines were planted in the early 1970s and have recently been completely replaced.
Grapes
Sangiovese accounts for 95% of the blend, with Canaiolo Nero, Malvasia Nera and Colorino making up the remainder. The replacement plantings use selected Sangiovese clones.
