The choice of shoots and control of vineyard wires

After frost, hail and conversion to Guyot, vigorous growth produced numerous shoots in late April and early May. Poorly positioned growth was removed, while shoots for the current crop and the following year’s fruiting cane were retained. Wires were tensioned and delicate shoots positioned between them to prevent wind breakage.
